Paul Aspelin Reviews and Recommendations
Real Client Experiences — Beyond Star Ratings
When you’re choosing a real estate agent, it’s natural to look at online reviews. Star ratings can be helpful — but they rarely tell the full story, especially when a transaction involves relocation, tight timelines, negotiations, or complex decisions.
This page was created for people who want more context, more substance, and more insight before deciding who to trust.
In the “Paul Aspelin Reviews and Recommendations (PDF)” link above you’ll find a curated collection of real client experiences spanning more than two decades — including handwritten notes, mailed surveys, personal letters, and published online testimonials — gathered in one place to make your evaluation easier.
Paul Aspelin 5-Star Reviews
As a successful Realtor® with 25+ years of experience under my belt, you might expect to find an extensive collection of online 5-star reviews singing the praises of Paul Aspelin, Realtor® extraordinaire. But the truth is, you won’t find them all online, or in one place. And there’s a reason for that. I’ve found that truly heartfelt reviews come in many different forms. Online, by snail mail, dropped off in person at my office, or even by phone call. Sincere appreciation comes when it is earned. One cannot dictate the method in which it is received.
What Reviews Really Reveal About an Agent
Before scrolling, it helps to know what actually matters when evaluating reviews. Look for Specific Experiences, Not Generic Praise.
Short, generic comments like “Great agent!” or “They were awesome to work with” feel nice, but they don’t explain how an agent performs when things get complicated.
The Lost Art of Genuine Reviews
In my pursuit of excellence, I’ve always known that the value of a review extends far beyond what’s posted online. For years, I diligently mailed a survey to every client, eager to hear their candid feedback and learn how I could improve my services.
There was something special about the handwritten notes and letters that were returned with those surveys -something real, something online reviews lack.
There’s a certain sincerity that comes with pen meeting paper, a depth of emotion that’s hard to replicate in an online format. A sincerity that makes offline reviews so invaluable. Each handwritten note, each heartfelt letter is a window into the hearts and minds of my clients, a tangible reminder of the impact I’ve had on their lives. Their responses represent a deep appreciation for my services.
A single heartfelt recommendation can speak volumes, carrying more weight than a hundred generic reviews.
Most of the surveys I’ve sent out to newly closed clients were returned around 30 days after their closing. Clients kept my snail mail survey safe, with their other important documents, until they had a chance to breathe. It’s as if the survey was too important to just “get it off their plate” like today’s online reviews. Clients held on to it until they had the time to explain their true customer experience.
Pay Attention to Reviews That Show Real Value
Not all reviews are created equal. The most meaningful feedback highlights the value an agent brings — the things that actually make your experience smoother, more profitable, and less stressful. Pay attention to reviews that mention:
- Communication and responsiveness – keeping you informed and confident at every step
- Preparation and organization – anticipating challenges before they arise
- Problem-solving and advocacy – protecting your interests and finding creative solutions
- Guidance during negotiations – helping you get the best outcome possible
- Creativity and strategy that drive results – turning market knowledge into tangible gains
- Genuine care for clients – treating your goals as if they were their own
- Multiple successful transactions with the same client – proving consistent value and trust over time
Specific experiences reveal real skill, creativity, and the thoughtfulness needed to navigate the roller coaster of emotions involved in relocating, buying, or selling a home.
Reviews that highlight these points show more than competence — they show an agent who delivers actual results, peace of mind, and ongoing client satisfaction. That’s the kind of value you want guiding one of your biggest financial decisions.
Patterns Matter More Than One-Off Comments
If an agent floods their social media, website, or online profiles with nothing but generic 5-star reviews, ask yourself: are these genuine reflections of client experiences, or just a focus on numbers? And if collecting stars is their priority, what does that say about how they might treat your transaction — as a client to serve, or as just another number?
Look for patterns across reviews, not a single standout comment. Real insight comes from consistent experiences, not volume alone.
5-Star Ratings Are Only the Starting Point
Star ratings function as social proof — a quick signal of satisfaction that can help build trust at a glance. They’re useful, but they don’t tell the full story. You’ll never regret choosing an agent whose reviews reveal depth, care, and genuine expertise behind the stars.

Ask the Right Questions
“Would I feel confident with this person guiding one of my biggest financial decisions?”
And just as important — how meaningful does an experience have to be for someone to take the time to write and mail a handwritten note afterward?
Instead of focusing solely on stars or volume, these questions help you see what truly matters when choosing an agent.
Why My Reviews Are Different
The reviews on this page are different because they capture real client experiences in depth:
- Written without pressure — clients share honest feedback on their own terms
- Shared after reflection — many were sent weeks after closing, once clients had time to reflect
- Documented in multiple formats — handwritten notes, mailed surveys, personal letters, and online testimonials
Together, these reviews provide a fuller, more honest picture of what it’s like to work with me — the preparation, guidance, creativity, and care that drive real results.

“My partner and I had the pleasure of working with Paul as our REALTOR for the purchase of our very first home, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very start, Paul went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, informed, and supported at each step of the journey. His expertise and attention to detail were invaluable as we navigated the complex process of finding a home in our price range, negotiating offers, and handling all the paperwork. Paul was incredibly responsive, always available to answer our questions (and we had a lot!) and quick to provide updates and insights as new listings came up. He took the time to truly understand what we were looking for, which made the search process efficient and rewarding. It was clear that he genuinely cared about helping us find the perfect home, not just any home. Thanks to Paul’s guidance and dedication, we found a home that we absolutely love and feel confident in. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a REALTOR who is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and dedicated to making the home-buying experience smooth and enjoyable. Paul will be our first call for any real estate needs in the future!”
